Flexible Staffing by IMS
IMS has a developed a sophisticated performance system that guarantees clients a high quality temporary worker. The system includes on-the-job screening of workers by IMS managers and tracking the performance of workers on the jobsite. IMS provides clients with pre-screened, qualified employees in order to meet their variable production requirements.
Our Flexible Staffing program:
1. On-the-job screening by IMS managers. IMS places flexible workers at the client job site after the worker has been supervised by an IMS manager on a previous job site. Since IMS managers personally supervise many IMS employees on the jobsite, they are able to make effective recommendations when a client requests workers for flexible staffing positions.
2. Performance Metrics. We track the performance of workers at IMS-run job sites. We then reference the performance scores in a database and attempt to place the highest scoring worker available at your job site.
3. Recruiting. IMS is consistently recruiting from a variety of resources to keep a steady stream of quality prospective employees. They include; employee and client referrals, community based organizations, local colleges and tech schools, web site job postings and newspaper advertising just to name a few. All candidates are screened for their ability and willingness to perform the essential functions of the jobs which we have to offer them. They are evaluated on their basic reading comprehension, math, and communication skills as it relates to work in the production environment. Each applicant is personally interviewed to gleam the type and length of employment they are searching for. IMS rates their attitude, job skills, and ability to perform basic job functions.
4. Employee Orientation. Topics such as attendance, conduct, dress code and quality, etc. are discussed prior to placing an employee on an assignment to help ensure higher productivity and satisfaction for our customers. IMS' goal is to reduce work-related accidents. In some cases employees are given a tour of the work-site and are introduced to the tools and equipment used to complete the job assignment. Employees are also given guidelines for job safety and instructions on the proper use of this safety equipment.
5. Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment Claims Management. By utilizing flexible staffing, the client avoids the management costs and the financial impact associated with unemployment and worker’s compensation claims.
6. Hiring Temp-to-Hire allows a company to hire an employee directly onto their payroll after working a set number of hours. This enables the company to determine the employee’s attitude, productivity and attendance before offering the employee a position within the company. The Direct Hire approach enables the client to bring that employee onto their payroll immediately. This approach also works well when hiring for a lead or supervisor position because it attracts a caliber of employee that may not be willing to work on a temp-to-hire basis.
